KARACHI, Feb 12: The protesting primary teachers have threatened to besiege the Sindh Chief Minister House on Feb 17, if their demands were not met.
The All Sindh Primary Teachers Association's leaders said during their ongoing token hunger strike, in front of the Karachi Press Club, which entered its 12th day here on Saturday.
The protesting teachers are demanding that services of all the primary teachers appointed on contract basis be regularized, as they claimed was promised by the government.
The protest leaders urged the government to release their salaries stopped since many months and permanent job status be granted to all the 3662 teachers across Sindh.
Promotions: Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani has sought the details regarding delays in the promotions of school and college teachers from Sindh Secretary Education within the next 48 hours.
This assurance was made to delegations of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) and the Government School Teachers Association (GSTA), which called on him separately on Saturday.-PPI
