HYDERABAD, Feb 12: The chairman of the Sindh-Punjab Students Association, Dr Naveed Chaudhry, and press spokesman Sheeraz Rajput have said Punjabis in Sindh have always given preference to interests of Sindh and they would continue opposing projects like Kalabagh dam and greater Thal canal.
In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, they said Punjabis living in Sindh would struggle for rights of Sindh.
They said they would not accept any project which was anti-Sindh as they were living in Sindh.
They said the Kalabagh dam and the greater Thal canal were question of life and death for Punjabis of Sindh because majority of them were associated with the agriculture sector.
They demanded that Punjabis of Sindh be given representation in the Anti-Kalabagh Dam and Greater Thal Canal Committee as they could play their role against controversial water projects.
They said working relationship of Punjabis with the Sindh water committee would also help reduce hatred against Punjabis.
HESCO: Hesco has made special arrangements for continuity of power to water supply and sewerage pumps in Muharram.
