DADU: 155 teachers, others promoted

DADU, Feb 10: A meeting of the departmental promotion committee of the education department was held here on Thursday to review the records of and promote teachers and other staff of the department.

After examining the records, 42 primary and junior school teachers were promoted to high school teachers, 57 high school teachers were placed in selection grade BPS-17, and 56 other employees were promoted from BPS-1 to BPS-17 in a move-over.

Presiding over the meeting, DPC chairman DCO Alam Din Bullo said that officials with good reputation and record, who had not submitted their applications through the EDO (education), would be promoted in the next meeting of the committee.

EDO (education) Professor Qamaruddin Farooqui said that it was announced a month ago that a meeting of the DPC would be held and all education officials were advised to submit their applications through relevant assistant district officials (education).

He said that despite the notification, those officials, who had not submitted their applications, should submit their applications now so that they could be considered in the next meeting for final decision.

The ADOEs of Johi and Sehwan were transferred on public complaint, he clarified.

EDO (finance) Noor Mohammad Leghari, DO (secondary education) Syed Rasool Bux and DO (elementary education) Asghar Ali Leghari also attended the meeting.

EMBEZZLEMENT: Sehwan taluka nazim Syed Hajan Shah has alleged that hundreds of thousands of rupees were embezzled in development schemes of Bubak union council in connivance with the union council nazim and the contractor.

Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Shah claimed that only selected works were carried out in certain areas. He appealed to the Dadu DCO to conduct an enquiry into the matter.

ELECTROCUTED: A woman, Amiran, wife of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, was electrocuted in Haitam Jatoi village, Dadu taluka, on Thursday. She accidentally touched a live wire while hanging clothes in her house.
