Sindh IGP made interior secretary

ISLAMABAD, Feb 7: Inspector General (IG) of Police Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, has been transferred and appointed as secretary of the Ministry of Interior, it was announced here on Monday.

Under a fresh reshuffle in the bureaucracy, Secretary of Interior Tariq Mehmood has been posted as secretary of the Ministry of Communications.

Former Secretary of Communications Iftikhar Rashid had been transferred earlier and he is now serving as chairman of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra).

A senior official of police services, Asad Jehangir, has been appointed acting inspector-general of police, Sindh, in place of Syed Kamal Shah.

Prime Minister's press secretary Ishfaq Gondal has been transferred to the Ministry of Information as director-general cyber wing of the ministry, Javed Akhtar, has been appointed press secretary to the prime minister.
