ISLAMABAD, Feb 7: Assistant Commissioner (city) Saeed Ramzan suffered multiple injuries in a road accident here on Monday, police said.
Mr Ramzan was going to office when a vehicle (X 71-05) of the UAE embassy rammed into his jeep (IDF-741) near the Parliament Lodges due to speeding. The official was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and admitted to the intensive care unit. According to the doctors, Mr Ramzan received injuries to his head causing swelling in the brain and his cervical vertebra and a jaw bone (maxilla) were broken.
The driver of the UAE embassy, identified as Shaikh Mohammad Asghar, also suffered injuries and was admitted to the Federal Government Services Hospital. His condition was also stated to be critical.
