RAWALPINDI, Jan 20: The district government has approved an amount of Rs500 million for completion of various development works in colleges, it has been learnt.
Apart from construction works and repairs, this allocation will help in improving the standard of educational institutions in the district, sources said.
The project includes construction of science laboratories, libraries, new classrooms and provision of furniture and other materials.
A new building will be constructed to house the library at Government Postgraduate College, Asghar Mall, a library complex and classrooms at Government Degree College for Boys, Satellite Town, while a hostel block at Government Viqarunnisa Girls College.
Similarly, a biology laboratory, science block for MSc section, library and classrooms will be established in Government Postgraduate College for Girls, Sixth Road.
Besides, construction work will also be carried out at Government Sarwar Shaheed College Gujar Khan. This work will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, five degree-level classrooms and a laboratory will be built and furniture provided.
Inter College Kallar Syedan, which is facing the problem of water shortage, has also been put on priority list. A tubewell will be installed at the college and furniture provided.
Similarly, a tubewell has been approved for Government Degree College Daultala. Its boundary wall will also be constructed and furniture provided.
