BAHAWALPUR, Dec 18: The government should declare those Cholistani areas as a tax-free zone which have been included in the green belt for the promotion of dairy projects and breeding of livestock.
This was demanded by Bahawalpur Chamber of Com-merce and Industry President Chaudhry Abdul Sattar while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a two-day training programme on dairy farm management and livestock.
The training programme was organized by Smeda in collaboration with the BCCI and the livestock department.
The BCCI chief underlined the need of increasing the production of mutton and beef to meet the growing demand all across the country.
He said the livestock was in abundance in the Cholistan desert where people should be provided maximum incentives for breeding their herds. This would also greatly help in reducing unemployment here, he said.
Mr Sattar also demanded that the contractors of cattle markets should also set up medical camps and extend other facilities to the owners of herds in Cholistan.
STRESSED: Former MPA and PML central media coordinator Syed Tabish Alwari has stressed the need of accelerating the efforts for national reconciliation and cohesion on all important national issues.
At a function held here on Saturday, Mr Alwari said the government had already taken a number of steps in this direction whose results were now quite visible.
