KARACHI, Nov 27: Pakistan's Saleh Mohammed and Khurram Hussain Agha survived some anxious moments before winning by an identical margin of 4-3 frames in the 30th World IBSF snooker championship under way at Antalia, Turkey.

According to details made available here on Saturday, Khurram won his sixth match but not before he was fully extended by his rival Geritt big de Leij from the Netherlands.

The loser however, had the satisfaction of registering a break of over 100.

In a similar fashion, Saleh Mohammed faced resistance from his Irish opponent Kieran McMohan. McMohan played aggressively and secured the breaks of 79 and 113 but could not be able to tame the last year's runner-up.

Khurram lost the first frame 51-74 and came back in the second 84-09 to level it 1-1. Geritt shocked him in the third frame 114-0 but could not shake his confidence and he again bounced back in the fourth 75-12.

The Dutchman outplayed Khurram in the fifth frame 65-26 and took the lead 3-2.

But afterwards he could not retain his control over the game when Khurram staged a spirited comeback in the next two frames. He won 72-05, 73-43 to close the game 4:3.

Khurram placed in group G won his seventh match rather easily against Remcode Boer from the Netherlands 4:1 played in the first session on Saturday.

Khurram regained his form and confidence after winning the nerve-tingling sixth match. He grabbed the first two frames 70-18, 63-46.

Remcode showed some signs of fightback in the third frame by claiming it 63-49. But Khurram in an upbeat mood seemed unimpressed and shook off the pressure. After losing third frame he took the fourth and fifth frame 81-21, 77-16.

Saleh survived some anxious moments in his sixth match before finally overcoming his rival.

McMohan gave really tough time to Saleh in a marathon encounter as he won the first frame convincingly 101-16. Saleh came back in the second frame to make it 1-1 with a 67-53 win.

The Irishman bounced back to secure the next two frames 79-0, 0-113. The humiliation in the two frames made Saleh stand up and be counted.

From the outset of fourth game, Saleh turned up heat and outclassed his opponent to close the match winning the three frames and the match 61-26, 72-09, 65-19.-PPI
