Go-ahead for Baloch Constabulary

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: The federal government has given an anticipatory approval for raising the Balochistan Constabulary force, for which Rs100 million will be disbursed during 2004-05.

According to official sources, the ministry of interior has been given a go-ahead to raise the new force, although the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) is yet to approve the project named as 'Raising Balochistan Constabulary'.

The ministry of interior has been asked to complete the documentation process fast so that an approval of Ecnec could be sought through proper.

This sanction for approval is valid up to Dec 31, 2004, and will lapse thereafter unless the period is extended under the rules.
