KARACHI: Water shortage

KARACHI, Oct 2: Water supply and sewerage systems were badly affected on Saturday following the suspension of power supply to sewerage and water pumping stations.

According to KWSB, the pumping stations began functioning when the electricity supply was restored after nine hours.

A KWSB spokesman said the power supply was completely suspended at 6am to North-East Karachi, 9th Mile Karsaz, Hub Pump House, LSR Pumping Station, Dumloti, Clifton CPS, Chakiwara, treatment plants No 1, 2 and 3 and Jamila Sewerage Pump and other city pumping stations.

The power supply was restored at 3:30 pm.

The supplies to the city were cut by 18mgd due to the suspension of power supply to NEK Pump House for three hours and twice for 15 minutes to Hub Pumping Station.-APP
