KARACHI, Sept 18: The students of the Economics department, Karachi University, organized an exhibition in connection with their course requirements in the varsity's gymnasium on Saturday.
As a part of their training and professional grooming, the students of business management and marketing were required to establish a business enterprise, through which they could generate ideas and manufacture and launch their products. About half a dozen stalls, displaying different consumer items and handicrafts, attracted a large number of students and teachers from other departments of the varsity as well.
A senior teacher of the department motivated and guided the students during the course of exhibition. Chairman of the department, Prof Shafiqur Rehman, expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements and hoped that in future such events would also be held outside the campus to generate the interest of investors.
SEMINAR ON TEACHING: The KU is holding a seminar on "quality assurance in teaching", with the collaboration of the Higher Education Commission, on its campus on Sept 20.
The seminar, which will be presided over by the vice-chancellor of the Peshawar University, is likely to be attended by various vice-chancellors of the public sector universities.
