KARACHI, July 31: The Karachi Building Control Authority has warned the owners of projects, buildings and houses, requiring regularization or other approvals , to deposit the fee thereof immediately or else they may suffer inconvenience on account of the authority's ongoing drive for recovery of dues.

The KBCA further warned the owners that in case of non-payment of the outstanding dues, the water, gas and power connections of their buildings and houses would be cut and plans cancelled.

The defaulters were cautioned that legal proceedings, besides demolition, and sealing of premises, would also be initiated against them.

The authority has warned the owners of such buildings to pay off their dues within seven days to avoid financial loss and embarrassment.

Meanwhile, the KBCA has announced to hold a 'plumber training course from Aug 6.

A KBCA announcement said that eligible candidates for the course could submit their applications between Aug 2 and Aug 6, with the KBCA's administration general.

REPORT: According to a KBCA report, its team could not carry out demolition action at plot no 145, Block-3, Bihar Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, because of Quran Khwani being attended by about 100 women, at the site.

The chief controller of buildings, Brig A S Nasir, regretted that in order to safeguard an illegal act, the encroachers used a sacred ceremony as a shield.

He appealed to the people not to be swayed away by the negative attitude of violators of the law but strengthen the government against encroachers.-APP
