KHAIRPUR, July 31: Warring Kandhero and Maitlo tribes have agreed to resolve their dispute through negotiations at the Dargah of Pir-jo-Goth on Sunday.

Sources in the DPO's office said four elders from each side had assured that they would accept the decision made by the Faisala Committee formed for the purpose.

Syed Bagan Shah Jilani, Pir of Ranipur, and Saghiyoon Union Council Nazim Aijaz Bughio would represent the Kandhero tribe and Maula Bux Mazhar and Zulfiqar Kamario would be representatives of the Maitlo tribe in the negotiations.

The marriage of Nazir Maitlo and Zainab Kandhero had caused the dispute.

Meanwhile, the Solangi-Jagirani dispute remains unresolved.

The DSP, investigation, has been assigned to keep vigilance on the area.

Abdul Haq Qureshi has been posted as the new SHO of Ahmadpur while Muneer Shaikh, B-section police station SHO, was suspended on Saturday.

Farmers: Tail-end farmers of the Imam Shaikh, fed by Weeho Wah, Faiz Ganj taluka, staged a sit-in here on Saturday to protest against water shortage.

The protesters raised slogans against irrigation authorities.

They threatened that they would block the Nawabshah-Khairpur- Kumb road on Monday if water was not supplied to their lands.

SUICIDE: Azizullah Memon, 35, committed suicide by taking poison in Therhi here on Friday night.

The motive behind the suicide is said to be some domestic problems.
