Saeed declared champion

ISLAMABAD, June 27: Pakistan's Saeed Mughal was adjudged the champion bodybuilder in the Indo-Pakistan Peace and Friendship Bodybuilding Championship at the Islamabad Club on Sunday.

As many as 40 bodybuilders, among them 16 from India, took part in the competition that was organised by the sport's managers in Pakistan and India to promote peace and friendship.

Pakistani bodybuilders won the tall and the medium classes to be declared the overall winners of the championship while the Indians claimed the honours in the short and medium tall classes.

In the medium class Gul Abbas emerged the top man as he beat India's Roshan Ferrao and A. Pradhan while Saeed Mughal finished first in the tall class. Riazullah of India and home team's Jameel were second and third respectively.

L.M. Kerri Bassappa landed the short class in which Pakistan's Muhammad Naseem and Kashif Ali Khan took second and third positions.

R. Prasad Kumar gave India victory in the medium tall class leaving behind Syed Muhammad and Akbar Pasha.

The highlight of the show was guest posing by Ahmed Sadiq who has won numerous international crowns for Pakistan.

The secretary of the Indian Bodybuilding Federation meanwhile has invited Ahmed Sadiq to compete in the professional category of the Mr World competition being held in India this November.
