KARACHI, June 27: The Peoples' Doctors Forum and the Peoples Paramedical Staff on the 9th day of their campaign for the arrest of the killers of Munawwar Suhrawardy and Abdullah Murad, staged a hunger strike before the Press Club on Sunday.

The protesters were led by Dr Shoaib, Dr Nasim, Dr Shakil, and provincial president of the paramedical staff body, Suleman Memon and Fahim Gondal.

President, the Pakistan People's Party, Karachi division, Haji Muzafar Shajrah, speaking on the occasion, alleged that the government, through 'staging the drama of political instability,' was trying to divert the attention of people from the recent terrorism spate.

The PPP would not sit in peace unless the killers of the two party leaders were brought to justice, he added.

Meanwhile, the PPP leader, Nisar Ahmed Khoro, Haji Muazafar Shujrah, Habibuddin Junedi and Rahil Iqbal have condemned the baton-charge on the protesters and forcible removal of a protest camp of the Peoples Labour Bureau, Malir, at Quaid Abad, Landhi.

They regretted that instead of arresting the killers, the government was 'attacking' peaceful protesters and their constitutional right was being usurped.-PPI
