SINGAPORE, June 1: Indian Defence Minister George Fernandes dismissed the immediate threat of war with Pakistan, describing the situation along the tense border as stable.
“I don’t think one needs to worry as to what is likely to happen,” Fernandes told reporters after private talks with US Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz on the eve of a regional security conference here.
“I think it is stable,” he added.
