6 Pakistani stampede victims buried

ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: Six Pakistani pilgrims, who were killed in a stampede in Mina, were buried in Makkah, Pakistan Embassy at Saudi Arabia said.

The Welfare Wing of the Consulate General of Pakistan issued six no-objection certificates (NOCs) for the local burial of the stampede victims.

An emergency centre has been set up at the consulate with Abdul Aziz Oqaili, Community Welfare Attache, as its head. The centre is providing assistance to the relatives of those victims who were holding Aqamas.

The names of those Pakistanis buried are; Malik Imtiaz Ahmed s/o Ghulam Rasool (Aqama No.2193259997); Mohammad Umar s/o Karim Bux (Passport No.619553); Mumtaz Hussain Shah s/o Saeed Mohammad (Aqama No.2126580022); Mohammad Sabir s/o Abdul Hamid (Aqama No.2125249686); Mohammad Shakir s/o Mohammad Sabir (child); Maqsood Ahmed s/o Ghulam Mohammad (Passport No.K 221197, Aqama No.217211085).

The emergency centre at the consulate is functioning round the clock and can be contacted on telephone number 02-6691051.

Mr Abdul Aziz Oqaili can be contacted on his mobile 052719025 for any assistance round the clock.

LIST OF VICTIMS: The Ministry of Religious Affairs released on Wednesday a list of 35 Pakistani pilgrims who died during a stampede in Mina on Feb 1.

Those died included 15 Hajis and 20 Aqama holders.
