LARKANA, Jan 4: Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has alleged that President Gen Pervez Musharraf is saving himself while nuclear scientists are being insulted.
Speaking at a reception here on Wednesday, he made a comparison between nuclear scientists of Pakistan and India, saying a scientist was elected president of India while in Pakistan they were being sent behind bars.
He said Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali had no access to the nuclear plant which was heavily guarded under tight security.
He urged People's Party Parliamentarian workers to prepare for the next elections in the country.
Commenting on Nawab Shabir Chandio's defection from the party, he said it made no difference as the PPP had roots in masses.
He said many had come and gone but the journey continued with the ideas of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for the egalitarian rule.
"People are dying out of starvation and hanging themselves due to unemployment while the law and order situation continues to deteriorate," he said.
He asked the party MNAs and MPAs to regularly visit the offices and keep in touch with voters and workers who had propelled them to assemblies.
PPP city president Khalique Bhutto focused on reactivating the party organization, saying it was time to rethink and check rulers' activities and actions.
He said Mr Bhutto made Pakistan a nuclear state but he was hanged and now Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was made scapegoat.
City PPP general secretary Khair Mohammed Shaikh, Fida Tunio, Nek Mohammed Tunio and others also spoke on the occasion.
PPP district president Ayaz Soomro, MNAs Khalid Iqbal Memon, Anwar Bhutto also attended the reception.
