LAHORE: Auqaf official reinstated

LAHORE, Jan 17: The Punjab Auqaf Department has redressed the grievance of a complainant regarding reinstatement on the directive of provincial ombudsman.

Naseer Ahmad complained that he was appointed as caretaker (Khadim) at Masjid Dhajji Peer, Jhang, on daily wages vide order dated February 28, 1995, of the Auqaf chief administrator.

He has been performing his duty since then. The period of his appointment was extended from in accordance with the policy of the department and he rendered about nine years of service up to June 30, 2003.

He said that Faisalabad zone administrator relieved him from his duty along with other employees. He prayed that he may be reinstated as Nigran or Moazzan, as he has already rendered about nine years' service with the department without a break.

Taking the notice of the complaint, the ombudsman directed the Faisalabad zone administrator to reinstate the complainant.-APP
