MARDAN, May 31: NWFP Minister for Health, Dr Mahertaj Roghani, has said in the wake of limited resources we must try to solve our problems on self-help basis.

She was speaking at the inaugural function of Community Development Welfare Society Hospital (CDWSH) at Quaidabad here on Friday.

She said it was easy to  establish  an organization but an uphill task to run and maintain it.

Therefore, she said, we should not boast of the achievement more than what has been done.

She said Frontier was far behind in health care facilities and only joint efforts of government, NGOs and masses could bring it at par with the rest of provinces, she opined.

“The  more we are empowered, the greater will be  our responsibilities, but good intentions, dedication and honesty can lead to our emancipation,” she said, adding that if we acted with a belief and commitment, we would certainly reach the marked goals, the minister said.

Mahertaj further said establishment of the CDWSH at a place like Quaidabad was great deed, worth appreciation and promised to provide facilities to the hospital.

Referring to the role of NGOs for community uplift, the minister said certain NGOs undoubtedly had not attained the name they ought to do, some NGOs were doing tremendous job.

She said the support and assistance of well-reputed NGOs would be sought to get the hospital improve further, she said.

Dr Tariq Mehmood in his address of welcome pointed that tens of thousands of the people be benefited from the hospital, which would also lessen burden on other hospitals of the area.

He also highlighted the problems being faced by local people while large number of men and women from different walks of life attended the ceremony.
