Strike observed

HUB, May 31: A strike was observed against frequent unannounced shutdowns by Karachi Electric Supply Corporation at Uthal on Friday.

Business activities were suspended as all shops and business centres remained closed throughout the day.

The protest call was given by Anjuman Zameendaran and Kisaan Board Lasbela. Activists of the board held a protest rally holding placards inscribed with slogans against KESC authorities marched on the RCD Highway and other roads of the town. The protesters chanted slogans against the KESC. The protesters called off their strike after meeting Uthal Tehsil Nazim Sardarzada Farooq Sheikh, who assured them of solution of their problems.—Correspondent
