LARKANA, March 28: The People?s Party Parliamentarians at a meeting on Monday finalized arrangements to commemorate the 26th death anniversary of the former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on April 4.

The district president of the party, MPA Ayaz Soomro, presided over the meeting.

The district information secretary of the party, Asghar Shaikh, told this correspondent that the central gathering would begin in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto on April 3 which would continue till April 4.

He said central party leaders would deliver speeches during the gathering and assorted documentaries would be played for the public.

Mr Sheikh said a Musharia would also be held on the occasion.

He said a meeting of the central executive committee and federal council would be held on April 3 at the Naudero house of party leader Benazir Bhutto.

He said the meeting would finalize arrangements for reception to be accorded to Asif Ali Zardari on his arrival in Lahore on April 16.

The leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly, Nisar Khuhro, said the PPP had roots in the masses and its supporters remain unshaken during the odd days.

He said support of the people of Pakistan not only kept the PPP alive in the difficult times but made it a popular political party of the country.

Despite gerrymandering and rigging 10 PPP-backed candidates were elected as the district nazims in Sindh.

He said the government would witness on April 4 the profuse participation of the people showing their love and commitment to the party.

MNAs Khalid Iqbal Memon, Hizbullah Bughio, Anwar Bhutto, Shahid Bhutto and Ramesh Lal, MPA Munawar Abbasi, founder member of the party Abdul Razzak Soomro and presidents and general secretaries of talukas attended the meeting.
