KARACHI, May 30: The FIA, Immigration, detained 11 suspected passengers, who were leaving by a Kuwait Airways flight for Tunis on Pakistani passports.

Those picked were named as Imran Hasan Gondal, Mohammad Tariq, Ghulam Abbas, Shafaqat Husain, Intezar Ahmed, Mazhar Masood, Suhail Anjum, Mohammad Tanveer, Saleem Akhtar, Mohammad Khan and Fakhar Abbas, a statement said on Thursday.

They stated that they were travelling as visitors, but actually they were seamen and were going to join ships in Tunis.

The FIA assistant director, Jawed I. Mughal, stated that during further interrogation and checking of their travel documents (CDCs) were found to be forged. The passengers further said that they paid Rs300,000 to Rs750,000 each to their agent and that their passports, the CDCs and air tickets were given to them by him just before their departure.—APP
