KARACHI, March 20: Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Sunday visited international exhibition “Textile Asia” here at the Expo Centre. He went round various stalls housing machinery related to textile and garments and appreciated the standard of exhibition and the supplementary arrangements.
Many foreign companies including those from China are participating in the exhibition. Sheikh Rashid said that the exhibition would help promote confidence of investors and accelerate the pace of modernization in textile sector. The large attendance of people showed peace in the city, he added.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq also visited the venue and evinced special interest in textile machinery on the display. In a brief interaction with media, he said that holding of rallies was a democratic right of the opposition. However, he added, all these rallies should be peaceful.
He fully defended Aga Khan Board’s role in education saying that it has nothing to do with syllabi which is a federal subject. The board was working only on updating the examination system, he said.—APP
