LAHORE, March 12: Rakyat Bank Chairman Prof Syed Jalaluddin Syed Salim has said that Malaysian entrepreneurs are keen to invest in tourism, housing and dairy sectors in Pakistan.

Talking to Senior Vice President Sohail Lashari during a visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday, he said Pakistan had become an ideal place for investment. A bigger delegation would visit Pakistan for exploring investment opportunities, he said.

Welcoming the delegation, Mr Lashari said tourism, housing and construction sectors were ideal for investment because of having been given the status of industry and facility for import of machinery, plants and equipment at five per cent customs duty.

Foreign investors were also allowed to hold 100 per cent equity and establish industries wherever they liked without seeking government’s permission, he said.
