KARACHI, March 11: Four ships carrying fertilizer, containers and to load 15,000 tons of rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Owing to steady arrivals, berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven vessels were berthed: They are Makiri Green, Astor, APL Orchid, to unload and load containers, Hero-1 to load cement, High Energy to load naphtha, Wappert Voh Leipziz, to unload tallow and Rainbow to offload coal.
Sailing was also active as an identical number of vessels departed under the lead of APL Orchid, Cape Ferro, PAC Antilia, Makiri Green, Steva, Iron Butterfly and Lepta Galaxy, while Wilmington, Fortune Bright, Pattaya Navy, Wappen Von Leipzig, Corn Thaikos, Rioa Rubio, Banglar Urmi, Chitral and Diamond Park are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage amounted 98,242 tons comprising 36,695 tons of export cargo, including 4,110 tons of rice and 61,553 tons of import cargo.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Global Princess, PON Buenos Aries, with containers, Austyn Oldendorff, with 32,222 tons of fertilizer and Sibi to load 15,000 tons of rice.

KARACHI, March 11: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals, crude oil and wheat were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.
Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, edible oil, jute and seeds also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 89 per cent as eight ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, chemicals, wheat and iron ore.
A cargo volume of 73,798 tons comprising 64,346 tons of import and 9,452 tons of export tonnage was handled.
Sailing was brisk as Contship Tamarind, Oranje, New Wind, Tirta Niaga-I and Nur Yanbu left the port, while MSC Mexico was due to depart. Three ships, Dubai, Sinar Sabang and Chemroad Vega, with containers, chemicals and edible oil were due to arrive on Friday while two more ships were expected to reach on Saturday.
