ISLAMABAD, March 4: The government has withdrawn customs duty in excess of 10 per cent ad valorem from the import of two kinds of pharmaceutical raw materials.
The decision was announced through a customs notification issued on Friday by amending the SRO372 of June 2002.
The partial exemption was allowed on import of O-2 (Hydroxyethyl) Amylepectin Hydrolysate Polly (O-2 Hydroxyethyl) Starch (3505.1090) and in the aforesaid notification in table-II, in list A- against serial no 68 for the word 'lucryl amidoletaine', the word 'lauryl amidobetaine' is substituted.
SUGAR: The Central Board of Revenue has exempted white crystalline cane sugar and white crystalline beet sugar from whole of customs duty. The amendments were introduced in the SRO457 of 2004, said a customs notification issued on Friday.
The CBR, through another notification of SRO144, had already exempted refined sugar under PCT heading no 1701.9910 from the customs duty.
