PESHAWAR, Oct 28: Commander Haji Din Mohammed, brother of the slain commander Haji Abdul Haq, has condemned the murder of his brother by the Taliban and termed it “unfair, unjust and unwarranted”.
Speaking to the national and foreign media at the residence of Mr Haq in Hayatabad here on Sunday, he said his brother had gone to Afghanistan to hold negotiations with Taliban and others, but the hardliners arrested and executed him without any crime.
He said the Afghans wanted a peaceful solution of the present crisis. “We continue peaceful efforts for the betterment of our people and reconstruction of the country”, he added. He said that a broad-based government was the only solution in the present situation. The Taliban had brought a wrath for the people and the country, he added.
Haji Din Mohammed, whose son Izatullah Khan was also executed together with his uncle, said that painting his brother as a spy was mere a pretext by the Taliban. They wanted to justify their brutal act by making different excuses”, he added.—Bureau Report
