KARACHI: Blast case hearing

KARACHI, Jan 5: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi on Wednesday recorded statements of three more prosecution witnesses in a trial against Gul Hasan, an activist of he banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, in Imambargah Ali Raza blast case.

Prosecution charged Gul Hasan as one of the accused, with other absconding co-accused Asif Choto, Abdul Salam and others for preparing Mohammad Ali Khatri for suicide bomb attack on Imambargah Ali Raza situated on M A Jinnah Road, Karachi.

As many as 25 worshipers were killed while 37 others injured when suicide attacker blew himself up during Maghreb prayers on May 31. The witnesses, Awan Ali and Anees Abbas, who received injuries in the blast and SI Irfan Haider, who registered FIR of the case, recorded their statements.

They were cross-examined by defence counsel Mushtaq Ahmed. ATC Judge Haq Nawaz Baloch, after examination of witnesses, fixed Jan 8 for the next hearing.
