KARACHI: SPLA election results

KARACHI, Dec 7: Prof Manzoor Hussain Chishti has been elected as the president of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) for the session 2004-05.

In the results announced by the SPLA election committee on Tuesday, Prof Mohammed Mashooq Baloch was elected as central secretary general, Sarfraz Ali Khan as senior vice-president, Prof Khalil-ur-Rahman Bhutto as vice-president, Prof Sher Khan Selro as additional secretary, Saeed Naqvi as Joint Secretary (Karachi), Prof Gul Sher Nabi as JS (Hyderabad), and Prof Abdul Rahman Khoro as JS (Sukkur).

The new SPLA President, Prof Manzoor Chishti, announced that the association's executive council will meet on December 15 at the Govt Muslim College, Hyderabad to discuss current issues facing teachers. The meeting will help formulate a future course of action. - PPI
