KOLKATA, Nov 12: Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is confident his team can continue its winning form over India in Saturday's limited-overs international. "We have won the last three matches , and if we are able to play to our potential, we will win this time as well," Inzamam said on Friday.

An estimated 100,000 spectators are expected at Eden Gardens for the one-off match, which celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Indian cricket board. Indian captain Saurav Ganguly, who missed the last two Test matches against Australia because of an injury, passed a fitness test on Friday and will lead the Indian team, said B. Koley, joint secretary of the Bengal Cricket Association.

Ganguly earlier said the day-night one-dayer should be equally matched. "We beat Pakistan in its own country last time. Though they defeated us in the last three matches, the situation this time is equally balanced," he said. "The side which is able to perform better should win."

During India's tour of Pakistan in March and April, India won the five-match limited overs series 3-2 and the three-match Test series 2-1. Pakistan is brimming with confidence after defeating India in an Asia Cup league encounter in Colombo, a preliminary round contest of a tri-series in Amsterdam and during the biennial ICC Champions Trophy in Birmingham this summer.

India suffered more humiliation when it lost the four-Test series against Australia 2-1. It was Australia's first Test series win on Indian soil in 35 years. But Inzamam maintained India has a good batting lineup which can strike form any time.

Police are planning to deploy thousands of uniformed and undercover officers for Saturday's match. Nearly 4,000 security agents have been deployed around the cricket stadium and along the route the cricket teams will take from their hotel, deputy inspector general of police Chayan Mukherjee said.

All spectators will pass through metal detectors and closed-circuit television cameras will be used to monitor any trouble in the stands. Saturday's limited overs match, and the Indian tour of Pakistan earlier this year, are part of peace initiatives to defuse tensions between the rival neighbours.
