QUETTA, May 25: Seven tribesmen, including a tribal elder of Luni tribe, were seriously injured when a landmine exploded in Chamalang area of Kohlu district on Saturday.

According to official sources, Haji Hassian Shumozai Luni had gone to Chamalang to attend a tribal Jirga to settle a dispute between Luni and Marri tribes over the ownership of some coal mines.

The Jirga, in which provincial revenue minister Mir Mohabat Khan Marri was also present, resolved the issue according to the tribal traditions and customs.

Luni tribe elder Haji Hassian Shumozai was on his way back to Loralai along with other people of his tribe when his vehicle hit a landmine. The landmine exploded, injuring seven people sitting in the vehicle.

The official of the local administration present in the area in connection with the tribal Jirga rushed to the incident site, took the injured from there and got them admitted to the Loralai hospital.
