GUJRANWALA, May 25: A farmer was shot dead over an agricultural land dispute in Aroop village on Saturday.
Nazir Cheema was on his way home when accused Asif and Boota opened fire on him. He died on way to hospital.
The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
STABBING: A man was killed allegedly by his sons in retaliation after he stabbed and injured his one of his sons, daughter-in-law and a nephew over a domestic dispute in Bagarian village, Ghakkhar, on Saturday.
Asghar quarrelled with his son Arshad and daughter-in-law Bashiran over a domestic issue and stabbed them. He stabbed his nephew Shabbir when he came to Arshad and his wife’s rescue. The injured were admitted to the Wazirabad THQ Hospital in critical condition.
When his other three sons, Amjad, Sahibdad and Yousaf, came to know about the incident, they stabbed their father and killed him on the spot.
Wazirabad Sadar police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating.
However, the accused claimed that they have not killed their father, instead he committed suicide.
ACCIDENTS: Two students were killed while three others sustained wounds in an accident on Naushera Virkan Road on Saturday.
Two tractor-trolleys of Tung Kalan were trying to overtake each other in a bid to reach an Eid Miladun Nabi procession on the Naushera Virkan Road. One of the tractor-trolleys overturned when the driver lost control over the steering due to speeding as a result of which an elementary class student, Shahid, and a secondary class student, Nadeem, died on the spot, while Naveed, Shakeel and Amanat sustained injuries. They were admitted to a hospital in critical condition.
SHOT AT, INJURED: An eyewitness in a murder case was shot at and injured by the accused in Theri Sahnsi on Saturday.
Accused Zafar had killed one Akhtar a few years ago. Arshad Mir was an eyewitness to the incident. Zafar wanted Arshad not to testify against him.
Zafar called Arshad out of his house and opened fire on him. He was admitted to the Civil Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
