KARACHI, Oct 7: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Local Government Wasim Akhtar has taken strong notice of a report published in a section of press on Thursday about the tussle between the Sindh and city district government Karachi.
In a statement, the adviser termed the report 'baseless' and 'fabricated', saying it had no actual ground and had been written without proper information being collected by the reporter.
He said that he was shocked and surprised to see such a story "which appears to have been published only to create confusion and damage the image of the Sindh Governor."
The matter of Sabzi Mandi, the minister clarified, fell purely under the department of agriculture and had nothing to do with the governor and any action in this regard was taken by the concerned department.
In the matter of MDA and LDA, he said, the decision had been taken by the chief executive of the province, and not the governor. Same is the case of Kutchi Abadis, he added. "It appears that the story has been published to defame the Sindh Governor and create confusion," Mr Akhtar concluded. -PPI
