PESHAWAR, Sept 30: Security agencies have arrested a foreign national suspected to be linked with the Al Qaeda terror network after a raid near the border with Afghanistan.

Officials said on Thursday that the suspect, arrested late Wednesday, identified himself as Ahmed Abdullah and said that he was a Libyan national, a senior intelligence official said.

"We are not sure about his name and nationality and (are) trying to verify it," he said. "He does not look to be very important Al Qaeda man," the official said. Abdullah was asleep when security agencies raided his home in the Matani area near Peshawar. He tried to flee but was chased and caught, the official said. -AFP
