KARACHI, Sept 27: The centralized admission committee for government colleges released the placement lists of first year pre-medical admissions on Monday.

According to the admission committee, all the 10,393 applicants have been included in the placement lists.

The applicants have been advised to finalize their admissions within seven day time. A student not satisfied with his or her placement could submit claim forms at centres established in six colleges, the committee added.

There were 11,395 seats at 43 colleges and eight higher secondary schools. Those who have been placed for admissions, included 2,151 A-1 graders; 2,907 A-graders; 2,778 B-graders; 2,051 C-graders; 499 D-graders and seven E-graders.

The highest closing percentage of the placement lists was recorded in the case of St. Joseph's college (88.47), followed by PECHS college (85.53), and St Lawrence college (84.35).

A total of 620 students were placed at Sir Syed College for Women, followed by College for Women, Shahrah-i-Liaquat (425) and PECHS college (421). Placement at 22 educational institutions remain below the number of seats allocated for admissions, while in the case of 21 institutions lists went beyond the allocations.

EDO Education Prof Rais Alvi briefed newsmen that the committee had so far issued lists of 36,698 students, who had applied for admissions in the faculties of science, home economics, computer science, pre-engineering and pre-medical. The lists of commerce and humanities groups will be announced latest by October, he added.

He made it clear that students should not pay more than the prescribed fee of Rs1,170 including Rs220 as enrolment fee. He said that students who in some cases had paid computer fees at the time of admission this year would be refunded the amount by the colleges concerned.
