DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sept 13: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the central leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, on Monday said that the federal government had failed to maintain law and order in tribal areas.
Inaugurating the kidney ward equipped with two dialysis machines at the DHQ Teaching Hospital here on Monday, he said growing unrest in South Waziristan Agency proved that the issue could not be resolved through bullet.
Maulana Fazl, chief of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, urged the centre to hold dialogue instead of using force against Muslims. He said the MMA government was following the party agenda in the province and providing basic amenities to the poor.
He said the construction work on the 300-bed Mufti Mehmood Hospital was in final stages. The hospital, he said, would help improve the healthcare facilities in the backward area.
Earlier, the medical superintendent, Dr Syed Chiragh Hussain Shah, appreciated the up gradation of the hospital and efforts made for the registration of Gomal Medical College with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
