Three advisers to PM appointed

ISLAMABAD, Sept 5: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Sunday appointed Syed Sharifuddin Pirzada, Dr Salman Shah and Nilofer Bakhtiar advisers to the prime minister.

The appointments were notified on the advice of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in accordance with Article 93 of the Constitution, said a notification issued by the cabinet division.

Mr Pirzada would be honorary senior adviser on foreign affairs, law, justice and human rights with the status of senior federal minister. Dr Shah has been notified as adviser on finance with the status of federal minister.

Ms Bakhtiar would be adviser on women development with the status of federal minister, said the notification. Mr Pirzada and Ms Bakhtiar also served as advisers in the cabinets of former prime ministers Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
