OKARA, Sept 1: A proclaimed offender was shot dead on Wednesday in an exchange of fire between the two gangs of dacoits near Zamirabad village, Renala Khurd.

The police rushed to the spot after getting information that the shootout between the Mushtaq alias Dhulli gang and the Jafar alias Kulli gang was going on near Renal Khurd. On reaching there, the police found a body of the dacoit who was later identified as Kali.

His body was shifted to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy. The deceased dacoit was wanted in 19 cases of heinous nature to Okara, Pattoki, Renal Khurd, Kasur and Chunian police. The police also found a rifle and 40 cartridges from the site.

ARRESTED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday arrested patwari Anwar, forest guard Gul Zareen, block officer Naseer Ahmad and former Chunian zakat and ushr committee chairman Maqbool Hussain on the charge of corruption. All the arrested accused were sent to jail.

KILLED: A teenager was killed by a speeding car on the GT Road on Wednesday.
