SUKKUR: PPP worker's condition worsens

Published September 1, 2004

SUKKUR, Aug 31: The condition of PPP activist Asif Buledi, who shot himself three days ago in protest over cases against party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and detention of her husband Asif Zardari, became critical on Tuesday as he began bleeding from mouth.

He has been admitted to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital where doctors recommended to take him to a Karachi hospital. Meanwhile, police sought his 14-day demand from the court of the seventh civil judge and judicial magistrate, Shikarpur, which was granted.

According to the doctors, Mr Buledi could not be sent to Karachi because of the remand. However, SP (investigation) of Shikarpur said that the PPP worker was now in jail custody and if doctors referred him to Karachi, he would be sent there under security.
