Ziad outclass Salar

ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: The matches of Under-13 and Under-17 boys and girls events were played in the 3rd Freedom Cup Junior tennis championships at PTF Complex on Tuesday.

Egyptian Ziad Rochdy beat Salar Ahmad 4/0, 4/2 in the boys under 13. Ziad displayed good sense at the net and never allowed his opponent to settle down.

In boys Under-17 Doubles, Ibrahim Haq/Zahaq Jamal beat Faizanul Haq/Gibranul Haq by 4/2, 4/1. Talented Faizan and Gibran put up good fight against their senior opponents but the experience of Ibrahim and Zahaq proved too good for them.

Sarah Mahboob/Natasha Afridi beat Anum Javed/Taniya Ahmad 4/0, 4/2 in a one-sided Under-17 girls doubles semifinal. Both Sarah and Natasha displayed good combination and understanding in outclassing their opponents. On Wednesday, matches will start at 4pm.

RESULTS:

BOY'S U-17 DOUBLES: Ibrahim Haq/Zahaq Jamal beat Faizan ul Haq/Gibranul Haq, 4-2, 4-1, Naumanul Haq/Sadanul Haq walkover Saad Ali Qureshi/Awais Kiani.

BOY'S U-13 SINGLES: Ziad Rochdy beat Salarr Ahmad, 4-0, 4-2.

GIRLS DOUBLES 17U: Sarah Mahboob/Natasha Afridi beat Anum Javed/Taniya 4-0, 4-2. -APP
