ISLAMABAD, Aug 24: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retired) Irshad Hasan Khan has asked members of the parliament and provincial assemblies to submit yearly statements of their assets and liabilities to the Election Commission by September 30.

According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, he asked the members to also submit the yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their spouses and dependents.

This is mandatory under section 42A of the Representation of the People's Act 1976 and section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act 1975, he added.

New ECP secretary: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retired) Irshad Hassan Khan has appointed senior joint secretary, Kanwar Mohammad Dilshad the secretary Election Commission of Pakistan. According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, Mr Dilshad would assume the charge of his office on September 9.
