LARKANA, Aug 19: Taking serious note of the closure of 20 primary schools and transfer of teachers, the Larkana district government served show-cause notices on seven education officials including the assistant district officer (male) of Ratodero for not complying with the directive of the district government.
Five education supervisors working in union councils Ratodero-I, Ratodero-II, Jummo Agham and Warishdion Mashi and one resource person were among those against whom show-cause notices had been issued in which they were asked to submit their replies within seven days, said the administrative officer at the district nazim's office on Wednesday.
Some of their names were given as Muhammed Hayat Channa, Ghulam Murtaza Sarioy, Bashir Ahmed Bhutto, Gada Hussain Soomro, Mubarak Ali Rahoojo and the resource person Nadir Ali.
The district government after receiving reports about the schools, conducted a survey which revealed that a majority of the primary schools were either closed or the teachers were absent for a long period or the attendance was thin.
The concerned district officer (Elementary), in violation of the contract had transferred many teachers that had affected the education and traumatized the plan, the AO said.
ENCROACHMENT: The District Coordination Officer of Larkana, Mr Abdul Razaque Qureshi, has asked the taluka municipal administration of Ratodero to remove the encroachments along the roads and streets of the town, ensure cleanliness and correct the drainage system of the town.
At an open katchery in Ratodero on Wednesday he received complains against ghost teachers who seldom attend schools. He also directed the executive engineer irrigation of Saifullah Magsi Circle, Larkana to ensure full supply of irrigation water in Wars-Dino Minor within 3 days or face action.
He also directed the executive engineer of Dadu Canal Division to accelerate the desilting work of Shaido Dero Minor near Naudero and release water into it. The participants complained about the frequent load-shedding and highly inflated bills.
He also visited the Maternity Home at Naudero where he found that out of nine staff members, four were present and the remaining five were absent. He asked the EDO Health, Larkana to take legal action against the unwilling workers and TMO Naudero was directed to ensure drinking water facility in the hospital.
