PESHAWAR, May 23: The All Tribal Students Federation has threatened to observe hunger strike in front of the Supreme Court if their request to admit tribal students to the Khyber Medical College is not entertained.
The federation has made the request in light of the Supreme Court’s decision to grant admissions to the tribal students. They also demanded of the government to remove the KMC principal for a delay in the grant of admissions to the tribal students.
Speaking at a meeting, presided over by Ejaz Dawar, the students, hailing from various Fata agencies, said the Supreme Court had ordered the KMC administration to solve the students problem within two weeks. They pointed out that three months had passed, but they had not been granted admission.
It may be recalled that all those students who carried a Fata domicile, but didn’t pass their FSc examination from a college located in the Fata, had not been granted admission to the KMC. The government had declared only those eligible for admission who had studied in Fata colleges.
