KARACHI, Aug 8: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim, in separate statements, condemned the bomb blasts near SITE area police station on Sunday.

The governor said that the elements involved in such heinous and terrorist activities were condemnable and were not only against the country, its people but also against humanity and the religion, which taught peace and harmony.

Expressing condolence over the loss of lives in bomb blasts that rocked SITE (industrial) area of the city, Ishratul Ibad prayed for the departed souls and grant of courage and strength to bear the loss with fortitude while wishing early recovery of the injured.

He directed the officials concerned to ensure free medical treatment of the injured. The governor assured that all possible measures would be taken and all available resources would be exploited to identify the terrorists and their supporters so that society could be purged of such elements.

He said the government would multiply its efforts to maintain law and order and asserted that the terrorists would not succeed in pressurizing the government through such cowardly acts against innocent citizens.

On behalf of Sindh government, the governor announced compensations for the victims of the blast. Meanwhile, the chief minister condemning the SITE blasts termed it cowardly act of terrorists.

He expressed sorrow and grief over the deaths in blast and sympathy with the members of the bereaved families. The chief minister assured that efforts would be doubled to ensure peace in the city. -APP
