Gen Yousaf visits S. Waziristan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4: Vice-Chief of Army Staff Gen Mohammad Yousaf Khan visited Wana and other areas in Waziristan on Wednesday and reiterated the army's resolve to rid the country of foreign terrorists.

A press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations directorate said Gen Yousaf said the people residing in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas were patriotic Pakistanis and the army would do its utmost to improve their living conditions.

He was given a briefing at the Zari Noor camp on the prevailing situation in the area, the ongoing operations there and development work being undertaken by the army in Waziristan. Later, he visited the Shakai valley, Santoi, Mantoi, Khamrang, Angoor Adda and Alwara Mandi and met troops deployed in the areas.
