KARACHI, Aug 4: The Sindh governor, who is also the controlling authority of educational boards in the province, has ordered removal of the sitting controller of examinations, Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi with immediate effect.

Official sources said that Prof Khalid Amin of Islamia Arts and Commerce College would replace the sitting controller, Prof Asif Pasha Siddiqui, whose contract of service has been terminated by the governor. The new controller had been granted a tenure of three years.

When contacted, chairman, BIE Prof Iftikhar Zaidi said he had received a message regarding the change of controller in the evening, adding he had even informed Prof Pasha about it. No reason of removal was mentioned in the official order, he said in reply to a question.

At present, Mr Pasha, who was appointed as controller of examination only last year, was in the process of preparing results of HSC annual examinations. To another question, he said the committee constituted by him (Prof Zaidi) on July 22 to look into the "reported dubious answer script" issue was working independently and its findings were yet to be received.
