PESHAWAR, Aug 1: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has condemned the attempt on the life of Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz and blamed it on what it called faulty foreign policy of the government.

In a press statement issued here, ARD's secretary-general Iqbal Zafar Jhagra expressed sympathy with the families of those innocent people who died in the Friday's incident at Fatehjang. He said that a meeting of the ARD's respective party heads had been convened on Aug 7 to adopt future course of action.

The ARD leader said that use of violence in politics had been damaging democracy and image of the country. Mr Jhagra added that terrorist activities had become order of the day and various important figures had been killed in near past.
