KASUR: Educators without salaries

Published August 2, 2004

KASUR, Aug 1: At least 700 educators appointed on contract basis in December, 2003, have not been paid their salaries for the last seven months. The district education department had appointed male and female educators in various institutions.

Although the educators had submitted their documents in time, yet their salaries could not be released. Worried about their fate, a delegation of educators led by Jamiat Teachers Federation secretary-general Dr Riaz Anjum met with district Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan and DCO and put forward their demands.

They assured the educators that their salaries would soon be released. Meanwhile, the DCO directed the EDO (Education) and district accounts officer to complete the formalities and resolved the problems of educators without any delay.
