LAHORE, July 28: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said on Wednesday that a comprehensive plan had been evolved to provide all necessary facilities at industrial estates.
Speaking at a briefing on the restoration and upgradation of the existing industrial estates at Multan, Lahore and Faisalabad and development of a new estate at Sundar by the Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company, the chief minister said the government would ensure development of industrial estates in accordance with the best international standards.
He said the company was playing a significant role in industrial development by taking steps for ensuring the provision of facilities like gas, electricity, water supply, sewerage, telephone and roads at the estates with the private sector participation. Police posts would also be established at all industrial estates for security, he said.
He said the government had adopted modern administrative standards for industrial development on the one hand and was taking steps for the welfare of industrial workers on the other.
The chief minister said the government was patronizing the private sector for achieving the goal of industrial development because its progress was necessary for achieving the objectives of poverty alleviation and unemployment.
The government had increased the pace of industrial development by giving incentives to entrepreneurs for the establishment of a maximum number of new industrial projects, he said.
